Winter Party
A great big party is held to kick off our winter break  Great times are had by all.

Toothpick Bridges

We make toothpick bridges in March.  Students are divided into teams and given a limited amount of toothpicks.  The bridge that holds the most weight wins.

Year End Party

At the end of the fifth grade year, we have noticed that many students decide to take the last month off.  To combat this trend we play a baseball game.  Three strikes and you are out.  You can get a strike by not handing in your work on time or misbehavior (yellow slips).  By not striking out, students can go to the year end party.  Student can buy back strikes, by reading more books or by their parent signing the acknowledgement letter sent several weeks before the party date.

We will start the day with a swimming party at the YMCA. Then we will watch an approved movie and finally have a Hot Dog feed at the Park.  We finish the day playing multi-player video games.  Students who strike out will have a regular school day, in which they will work on missing assignments.
